"Living Statues"

     There is a rare disease that slowly turns its sufferers into living statues.
It's called "Fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva" (or FOP for short)
and what it does is replace soft tissue with bone each time the soft
tissue is supposed to heal. It is caused by a mutant gene. It usually
shows up in the first or second decade of life and sufferers typically
die in their 30s or 40s after having been choked or suffocated by rabid
bone growth in their chest or throat. There are 800 known cases of it
and 285 of them are in the United States.

Werewolves?!?!

Werewolves?!?!

There is a condition called Hypertrichosis that makes its sufferers look practically like werewolves. Both men and women are affected by this quirk of nature.

The following is a picture of a person who was a famous sideshow performer. His name was Fedor Jeftichew and he was born in St. Petersburg, Russia in 1868 and died from pneumonia on January 31st, 1904.

Of course there are people alive today that have the condition also. They are performers for the Mexican National Circus. Their names are Danny and Larry Gomez.

Ann: Christina! I am convinced spontaneous combustion is caused by an accumulation of cat hair on one's clothing! The electrostatic properties¹ of the fur could be the catalysts of some, if not most of these incidents.

Ann:  I picture scientists rubbing people with cats...
Christina: That'd be pretty kinky! 
Ann:  Speaking of combustion, did you have anyone in mind when you wrote "Fire Escape?" Or any place? 
Christina: The song was written in our lockout. There was a flyer on the wall there that said: "There will be no fire escape from Hell". When Dave (guitarist) started to play a riff, we all jumped in... just went with it. It’s about when people get too big for their britches.
Ann: I'm glad someone's not afraid to call people out on it! Dave is an awesome guitarist! Whoa!
Christina: Oh heck yea! Dave's been playing for 30 yrs. Ann: And you are a busy lady from what I hear. One band is not enough?
